TEDxPalermo è una giornata di Talks, ovvero conferenze live tra 6 e 18 minuti, tenute da relatrici e relatori, professionisti di varie discipline secondo le linee guida di TED: Technology Entertainment e Design.
Dalle 9 del mattino a mezzanotte, la giornata live TEDx Palermo del 30 aprile ha visto alternarsi negli spazi dello studio427 una serie di monologhi e performance di esperti di New Media, Scrittori, Imprenditori, Designer, Architetti, Musicisti. Tra gli ospiti di questa II edizione: Ugo Parodi Giusino, CEO Mosaicoon; Andrea Genovese, Direttore 7thfloor; Massimo Pitis, Graphic Designer, Beniamino Saibene, Fondatore esterni.org; l’Architetto Francesco Librizzi, Marco Ferrari Founder Salottobuono; Giorgio Scianca Founder ArchiworldTV; la scrittrice indiana Tishani Doshi, la giovane cantautrice Erica Mou, lo scrittore Francesco M. Cataluccio, l’artista Paolo W. Tamburella e Maria Sebregondi Brand and Communication Manager di Moleskine, tra gli altri.

In the spirit of "ideas worth spreading", TED has created a program called TEDx, of local events, organized independently, that bring people together to share an experience similar to the one you live with TED. The TED Conference provides general guidance for all the TEDx events, but local events are made independently.
In occasione della manifestazione TEDxPalermo durante la settimana dal 29 aprile al 4 maggio 2011 cinque eventi-corollario hanno favorito incontri di orientamento alle professioni del futuro sotto il tema The New Creative Economy. TEDxPalermo presenta seminari e workshop in una panoramica necessaria sull'importanza dei cari vecchi mestieri legati alle discipline del fare con la F maiuscola, in un’ottica innovativa, perchè tornino a essere fondanti. Il progetto TRL - The Renaissance Link del sociologo Francesco Morace e Giovanni Lanzone (Head of Business Design in Domus Academy) racconta il senso dell’impresa a cavallo tra tradizione e futuro.

The TEDxPalermo Talk Francesco Librizzi was held in the evening of April30th. The location due to bad weather was changed at the very last minute with the studio427. Francesco Librizzi was born on may 19th, 1977 in Palermo. He is an architect and interior designer currently working in Milan. In 2005 he founded his studio for design and architecture. As writer and editor, he collaborated from 2005 to 2007 with the magazine DOMUS. From 2003 to 2005 he collaborated as architect with Luceplan. In march 2004 he graduated in Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture within Palermo University (magna cum laude) Francesco currently teaches Interior Design at NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Milano) within the Master in Interior Designer and within the study abroad program in collaboration with Philadelphia University of the Arts, University of Illinois (Chicago), and Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (London). He has taught within the Multiplicity Lab of Stefano Boeri, at MARHI Moscow School of Architecture, and at IED Barcelona. Among his recent projects: the interior layout of the new RCS headquarters, in collaboration with Boeri Studio (author of the building) and Mario Piazza (graphics); the new facade of the Allianz Teatro, Assago; a private nursery school selected for the London Festival of Architecture 2008; the exhibition architecture for the brand FMG and IRIS. In June 2008 the studio won an architectural competion for the renovation fo the Corti di Baires in Milano and in September 2008 he was awarded of the Prix Hemile Hermes in Paris. He curated, with Salottobuono, the set up exhibition for the Italian Papillon at the last Architecture Biennale of Venice.
